I disagree – “‘Bad idea’ – MAJ head says Golding should not have met artistes over Gully-Gaza issue”

I disagree…

The gully Gaza issue had caused further separation in our society. The country is already separated by politics, (PNP/JLP), and we don’t need additional separation. I don’t mind person having a preferences or drawing to a crew that they rate, but it had reached a level where persons were getting killed because of this. The other reason is, the lyrics that the guys sing about had reached an intolerable level whereas it was causing the moral standard levels in Jamaica to lower.

I must applaud the government to make a step to ensuring that they get involved in Jamaican culture. We all know dancehall is all about clashing and competition but dem did tek it too far. Suh right about now, mi a endorse positive lyrics, positivity. More love mi seh, Jesus Christ mi seh!  But in the mean time check out the article below that cause me to write this blog.

Gully vs. Gaza, Kartel vs. Movado

Yow, when i first heard Movado I was like, shocked that this singer suh brave and have so much melody taking on Kartel. I was impressed. Not telling no lie still, Kartel vicious, him have lyrics. Initially I never did rate Movado, but after a while him vibe start grow pon mi. I had the opportunity to meet both. I mixed songs for both artistes. I did a session with Skatta at Kings of Kings with Movado, when he did “Dem a Fag”. I was impressed. The Singer start improve pon him lyrics. I went to Sting 2k8 and paid attention to both artiste and the same ting again, I was impressed at how the Singer fearlessly took on Kartel. Kartel have nuff lyrics and him very lyrical, you cant take that from him, but at the end of the night/morning, a Movado win  the clash. But look pon these two artistes taking it on Tune for tune. What started the clash in the first place?
